TEST 2-DAY 2: THE LAST TEST DAY FOR SEBASTIAN

Barcelona February 27, 2020 Sebastian Vettel concluded his pre-season tests with 145 laps, equal to 675 kilometers. The German driver today completed the simulation of an entire race weekend behind the wheel of the SF1000. MORNING:

After the rain that fell during the night Sebastian waited for the track conditions to improve and he descended on the 4,655 meters of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to complete an installation lap with intermediate tires about twenty minutes after the green light. He then waited in the garage for the track to be completely dry and started the simulation of the race weekend by running on tires C3, C4 and C5. As yesterday, the wind that made certain curves more difficult was complicating the lives of the drivers. Just before the lunch break, the four-time world champion performed the qualification simulation establishing his best time of the day in 1’16 "841. To his credit at 13, 48 passages. AFTERNOON:

In the afternoon session the team was involved in the race simulation which saw the team repeat in all respects the procedures that are carried out on the Sunday of a Grand Prix. For this type of activity, Sebastian alternated C2 and C3 compounds, completing the 300 kilometers of the race distance without problems. Before ending the session, the German returned to the track for a series of runs aimed at collecting further data to analyze the car's behavior in detail. Overall, during the second test session Seb covered 229 laps, equal to 1,066 kilometers. Vettel therefore arrives at the start of the season with 402 laps (1,871 kilometers), equal to approximately six Grand Prix distances.

SEBASTIAN'S WORDS:

"Today was a positive day for the number of laps we managed and the fact that we had completed the program we had set ourselves. Having said that, I don't think today's times are significant because of the five days of testing faced up to this point was undoubtedly today the one in which the track was in the worst conditions. Due to the rain that fell during the night the asphalt has lost all the tires of the previous sessions and also the wind has started to blow very hard since early morning making driving difficult. I think we did a good job, even though we concentrated a lot on ourselves without trying too hard on the times. We will see the real levels only in Melbourne, or maybe not even there since that track has very particular characteristics. All in all I am satisfied with these tests".
