#POTUGUESEGP: SEBASTIAN'S PRESS CONFERENCE

During the usual Thursday press conference, Sebastian answered questions from reporters. In particular, he talked about the development and work of the team in the break period and the sprint qualifying. Below we have reported his words. Enjoy the reading!

SEB ABOUT #PORTUGUESEGP:

“I was happier with my car in Imola than in Bahrain. I feel the car better, that can simply be done through more kms. The race in Italy was just bad luck. I need a clean weekend in Portugal, so practice sessions & a GP without any difficulties. You always try to do your best. I just think that the first two weekends didn't show what the car and driver can do. I want to show that we can do more and I am excited to see what we can achieve this season. I expect a lot of things but there is no promise so we'll have to see”.

“We're hoping for a clean weekend! Let's put it this way. We should have a good weekend, I mean, I said that last time as well but it was worse. The rain (in Imola) was good actually but I didn't even take part at the start! Yeah... Anyways. We just need to bring it together to get a true picture. It's getting better even if you don't see the progress. I think we feel it and hopefully we're able to show it”.

“I don't think I'm miles away, it's more about bringing things together. Obviously you are fighting all the other teams and they're not on holiday so it's not an easy take to catch up, but I think we are trying to do everything we can. It's not probably the position we'd love to be in for this year, but we accept the challenge and we’ll try to get back as quick as we can. I think probably the first two races we had are not a fair reflection of where I am, where we are, because as I said, I still feel that mileage in the car helps me to get things together to be able to string the laps together”.

SEB ABOUT THE SPRINT QUALIFYING:

“It's decided now, so let's see what happens. At this stage you have to be quite open and see if it turns out to be a good or bad thing. I think the value of the race should always be the highest value of the weekend. If it turns out to be more exciting and people like it maybe we'll have to reset on that. If we don't like it, we should go back. I am generally against creating a mess on purpose”.

X: “In the stats the pole man now will be the one winning the Saturday race...”

S: “I was wondering about that! So that's how it is? The winner of the sprint race is the pole sitter? Ah... That's weird. Cause it should be the guy who sets the fastest lap”.

SEB ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH MICK:

“I like him and we get along with each other and if I can help him, I'm very happy to help. It's called friendship. That's the relationship. It was different with Michael because I know Mick for a very long time, when I got to know Michael was very different... He is doing really well. If I can help him anyhow I'm more than happy to do so”.
